This morning we enjoyed reading our Roald Dahl story,
The Magic Finger together. The students did a great job reading and summarizing the story. We had a lot of laughs too, it's quite a funny story!
We had our spelling test. They are marked and students need to finish their corrections and return them tomorrow signed. Each word that was written incorrectly needs to be neatly copied 3 times. Students who do their corrections and return their signed books tomorrow will receive 2 points.
During Science we played a number of learning games to review our 6 animal groups.
Ms. Mahon had a double art period with the students today and they all came back smiling and covered in paint. I would suggest art shirts or aprons for any students who don't already have them. They can help to keep their uniforms clean during art activities.
In Social Studies, we looked at map keys and learned about different appropriate symbols on maps to show mountains, hills, plains, rivers, etc.
Homework: Page 27 Social Studies
Students must choose symbols for mountains, hills, plains, lakes, and rivers and draw them in the map key as well as on the map.
Important Notes:
- I will be away this Wednesday January 22 for oral surgery.
- Tomorrow we will have class photos from 8:30-9:00am. Please be on time to school and in a clean school uniform, and SMILE! =)
