Using the number lines, students are asked to circle either the greater or lesser number. If they cannot fully read the instructions, they are reminded to look for the math words that they recognize (ie. greater, lesser).
The "Test Prep" section of page 6 is a little confusing so if they are having trouble tell them not to worry about it we will go over it as a class tomorrow.
2.We will have our first English Language test on Tuesday September 17, 2013. The test will check for understanding on the following concepts:
- identifying complete sentences
- recognizing the difference between telling sentences and questions, and applying the correct punctuation (period or question mark)
- identifying the naming part of a sentence
- identifying the action part of a sentence
We have been doing a lot of practice in class so I do not foresee any problems. In any case, I will send home a small packet of practice exercises for students to do over the weekend through to Tuesday's test date. If you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to contact me. Please note these will be sent home Friday, not tonight.
