- Understand and know the correct order of the design process
- Know the difference between human made and natural materials
- Know some examples of human made and natural materials
- Know the difference between living and nonliving things
- Know what living things need to survive
- Be able to classify things into living or nonliving groups
- Be able to explain why we need the things we need. (for example, we need shelter to keep us safe)
- Some vocabulary students should be familiar with:
reproduce: to make babies
shelter: a safe space, or a home
space: room to move
oxygen: a gas in the air
gills: how fish breathe
lungs: how people and land animals breathe
