1st Quarter Language and Spelling Exam Review

Grade 1 students will have their Language and Spelling exam during first period on Wednesday October 9, 2013.  For this exam students will be tested on the following concepts:

• recognizing and naming the verb or action part of a sentence
• recognizing and circling the naming part of a sentence
• understanding that nouns are people, places, or things
• recognizing nouns as the naming part in a sentence
• recognizing the difference between a question and a telling sentence
• able to put the correct end marks for a telling sentence and a question
• understands that all sentences must begin with a capital letter and end with the correct mark
• recognize question words (When, how, will, who, can, are, is, where, do, what...)
• be able to spell or unscramble the spelling words tested so far this year:
