Wednesday October 23, 2013

We had a great and busy day today. After the students morning Chinese class we went down to the gym to practice walking down the runway for the Halloween fashion show. Students had fun getting into character! After morning break we made some ghost decorations for our classroom while watching a bit of a Halloween film. After lunch we wrote and illustrated what nouns and verbs are onto signs that we will hang up in our class for reference. We also practiced replacing nouns with pronouns in sentences. During Social Studies we had a special treat because Kaitlyn brought in some photo souvenirs from her school in America. We continued our discussion about schools around the world. Thank you Kaitlyn for sharing with your classmates, we really enjoyed it!

***I found a copy of the newsletter on the floor so if you did not receive a hard copy this week please write to me in the communication book and I will make sure it goes home to you tomorrow. There is also an electronic version that I posted on the blog this week

Halloween Reminders:

Our Halloween celebrations will take place this Friday October 25. Students are not permitted to wear their costumes to school on this day.Parents are invited to come to school at 1:00pm and help students change into their costumes in our classroom.  At 2:00pm we will make our way to the gym for a Halloween Fashion Show. More details about this can be found in the newsletter that went home earlier this week. Following, grades 4-6 will trick or treat through the grade 1, 2, and 3 classrooms. Lastly, grades 1, 2, and 3 will go upstairs to trick or treat in grades 4, 5, and 6 classes. Please remember not to make you or your child's costume too scary as we don't want to frighten the younger students. I hope you can all make it for a fun afternoon!
